Beyond Research
Science doesn't stop at the trailhead. As a ski and ski-touring instructor, guidebook co-author, climate volunteer and passionate cyclist, I'm deeply connected to the alpine environment I study.
"öffi Touren" book series
Co-author of the öffi Touren guidebook series – ski and hiking tours reachable by public transport, encouraging low-emission access to the mountains.
Protect Our Winters (POW) Austria
Core-team member of Protect Our Winters Austria, mobilising the outdoor community for climate action.
Ski & ski-touring instructor
Certified ski instructor and ski-touring instructor – combining professional mountain experience with my research in high-alpine terrain.
Cycling
A passionate cyclist and occasional race participant. Whenever the distance allows, I travel to scientific conferences and meet-ups by bike rather than by plane – putting the low-emission mobility my research argues for into everyday practice.
Side Quests
Small tools I built because I wanted them to exist: Arrive Awake, a night-train alarm that wakes you a set time before the real, delay-adjusted arrival, and Stechen-Schreiber, a score keeper for the card game Stechen. Single-page web apps, free to use, open source.
